Business intelligence platform to major European banking group DNB

Back in 2011, cross-border bank DNB chose – for its operations in the Baltics – business intelligence strategist and implementation partner Infotrust and SAP BusinessObjects’ state-of-the-art business intelligence platform to assist the bank’s 1,000 internal users in benefitting in their daily routines from even more effective work processes and an even higher level of customer orientation.

The contract between DNB and Infotrust was signed in the Autumn of 2011, and, at the time in question, the tender represented one of the biggest deals of all times for the SAP BusinessObjects platform.

The cross-border project contract has covered a total of two business intelligence projects and close to 23,000 man hours – providing DNB with a state-of-the-art real-time data analysis platform for analyses, reports, queries and other banking operations, meant to accelerate and improve DNB’s ability to meet the present and future needs of its customers.

The business insights needed

Infotrust has been involved in the DNB group-wide core system replacement programme implementation in Lithuania, which is internally known as the TODO programme. The said programme aimed at implementing a uniform banking platform in DNB by replacing its overall core-banking solution, its financial data warehouse, BI and front-end as well as a number of other solutions.

“Operational reporting forms part of the upgrade and change. Operational reporting is most important in providing high quality financial services for our more than 700,000 bank retail clients and businesses. And possessing crucial competencies and knowledge within this particular field weighed heavily in our final decision to choose Infotrust as our cross-border resources to implement the operational reporting solution”, says Gundars Andžāns.

“The programme scope has been divided into two phases, during which Infotrust has implemented more than 300 operational reports for DNB retail and corporate banking products and services. They include account, cash transactions, cards, credit products, deposits and payments on the retail side, and credit products, factoring, trade finance, markets and treasury on the corporate side, thereby handling a vast amount of DNB’s overall business”, Gundars Andžāns continues.

The upgraded information system complies fully with the modern standards of functionality, security and reliability, and it will allow DNB to speed up all operating processes considerably, reduce the amount of technical work for the sales representatives, so as to allow them to devote more valuable time and attention to consulting and servicing the customers:

Real-time data available at all times
